What we learned shipping six sites this summer
26, July 2026
Summer was a production season. We launched a restaurant group, a lighting brand, a clinic, a publisher, a product studio, and a civic festival. The work looked different. The bottlenecks did not.
Copy arrived late on four of the six. We now ask for final headlines before we build the hero. Placeholders make everyone optimistic and then the layout breaks when the real sentence is twice as long.
The festival site was the exception. They wrote first. Design took nine days instead of four weeks. We are putting that sequence into every kickoff from here.
“A beautiful empty module is still a delay.”

What we decide before we draw
A one-page brief comes first: audience, proof, constraints, and the first three applications. If that page cannot be signed, we are not ready to design.
This keeps the work honest. Campaign ideas can wait until the system has a spine.

How a piece leaves the studio
Every article and project ends with files, licences, and a named owner. Handoff is part of the design.
