Motion that helps, not motion that loops

Motion that helps, not motion that loops

Looping textures used to be our default for energy. They also hid weak structure. This year we use motion to show state: a menu opening, a product rotating, a number counting to a real figure.

Reduced motion preferences are not optional. Every sequence has a still fallback. That discipline made the work clearer for everyone, not only for people who turn animation off.

A recent product page uses a 12-frame turntable instead of a 40-second film. Buyers can scrub. The studio can update a single angle without a reshoot. Helpful motion is also maintainable motion.

  • What we decide before we draw

A one-page brief comes first: audience, proof, constraints, and the first three applications. If that page cannot be signed, we are not ready to design.

This keeps the work honest. Campaign ideas can wait until the system has a spine.

  • How a piece leaves the studio

Every article and project ends with files, licences, and a named owner. Handoff is part of the design.
