Civic wayfinding pilot goes live this month
11, April 2026
We are piloting a wayfinding set for a waterfront path: arrival, decision, and confirmation. The type is high contrast and the arrows are almost boring. That is the compliment we want.
Colour codes three routes. Icons stay secondary because icons go out of date when a cafe changes name. Words last longer in civic space.
If the pilot holds through the summer crowds, the full street set follows in autumn. We will share the before-and-after counts when the city publishes them.
“A sign that needs a second sign has failed.”

What we decide before we draw
A one-page brief comes first: audience, proof, constraints, and the first three applications. If that page cannot be signed, we are not ready to design.
This keeps the work honest. Campaign ideas can wait until the system has a spine.

How a piece leaves the studio
Every article and project ends with files, licences, and a named owner. Handoff is part of the design.
